1. Delete your account from inside the app

This is the fastest route and it deletes your data immediately.

  • Open Kitio.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Open your account / profile section.
  • Tap Delete account.
  • Confirm. You will be asked to sign in again first — deletion requires a recent sign-in, so a stolen or forgotten unlocked phone cannot wipe your account.

If you signed in with an email address, you will be asked for your password. If you signed in with Apple, Kitio also revokes its Sign in with Apple token as part of the deletion.

2. If you cannot sign in

Email support@kitioapp.com from the email address associated with the account, with the subject line "Account deletion request".

Please include:

  • the email address on the account;
  • which sign-in method you used (email, Apple, or Google);
  • the approximate date you created the account, if you remember it.

We may need to ask a follow-up question to confirm the request really comes from the account holder before we delete anything.

We aim to complete verified account deletion requests submitted by email within 30 calendar days.

This is an operational commitment about how quickly we handle your request. It is not a claim that every record is erased immediately: as set out below, a small set of records may still be retained where required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution purposes.

3. What is deleted

When your account is deleted, the following server-held data is removed:

  • your account/profile record, including your name, email address and Firebase user ID;
  • your account status marker;
  • your cloud module entitlements;
  • your cloud Budget backup (all stored months);
  • your cloud Diet progress backup;
  • transient rate-limit state;
  • your Firebase Authentication user itself.

Kitio data saved on your device for that account — including budget entries, diet plans and progress, imported-package records and redeemed-code history — is removed on the device as part of the same deletion.

4. What is kept, and why

A small set of records is retained. All of them are keyed only by an internal user id and contain no name, email address or other identifying details; once your profile record and authentication user are deleted, that id no longer links back to you.

  • Purchase and licence records — accounting/tax obligations and purchase-transfer abuse limits.
  • Append-only audit log entries — security and fraud investigation.
  • Redeem-code consumption markers — a used code must stay used.
  • Consumed .kitio package seats — a consumed seat stays consumed; support can release one manually.

We retain these records only for as long as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and prevent fraud.

5. Content that was never on our servers

Kitio does not store the following on its servers, so there is nothing for us to delete:

  • Focus notes and floating text-box content;
  • note images and attachments;
  • Diet plans and completed-day state;
  • Budget content, while its cloud-sync activation gate remains disabled.

This content lives on your device. Deleting the app, or using Settings → Data and Storage, removes it.

If you exported a Focus backup archive and shared it somewhere else, that copy is outside Kitio and must be deleted wherever you sent it.

6. Purchases

Purchase records held by Apple or Google are controlled by those stores. Kitio cannot erase them, and deleting your Kitio account does not cancel a subscription or trigger a refund. Manage or request those through the App Store or Google Play directly.

If you later buy Kitio modules again or restore purchases on a new account, the stores' own records are what make that possible.
